Yes, that light dusting of white stuff is indeed what you think it is, snow! Where I am right now, it was 109 four days ago, now it’s 70. Winter is coming folks, this first blast is a true testament to that. More pics to come. Thanks to Discover Mammoth for the photo.

Saturday, August 7th we paid tribute to Mikey Radziwon. A friend and inspiration to many people, we had nearly 300 people come and celebrate his life with many more wishing they could attend. Words were said, tears were shed and closure was brought to many people, including myself. Read on for pictures and a tribute video. Continue Reading…

We are going to honor a great man this Saturday at the Mountain High East Resort, Mt. High was his home so where better to send him off. This is the link to the event page on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#!/event.php?eid=115218525196804. Please RSVP as soon as possible so we know how many people are attending, the mountain is providing food and drink so we need a rough number. There is no dress code, Mikey was bright and wouldn’t want anyone to limited on what they wear.

Looks like Mountain High got in trouble for the Sugar Bowl opening this past season. This is really a shame, that terrain added a whole new area to the resort, a markedly different area compared to the normal areas of the resort. I enjoyed riding back there as I’m sure anyone else would, it’s too bad it won’t be open. Here’s a “run-through” we did last season. Full press release after the break. Continue Reading…

Every summer I take my yearly trip up north to visit family, and of course, get in some summer snowboarding as well as ride some of the great skate parks Oregon has to offer. Here are some pics that I have taken thus far. More images to come. Continue Reading…

It’s that time of year again, no there isn’t snow on the ground yet but it’s time for new rails, and for the old rails to get a refresh. Not too much happening yet, and I still can’t “reveal” the new colors but it’s nice to know the work has begun and winter is again that much closer! Pics after the break. Continue Reading…

Well, that’s it for the 2010-2011 (lift accessed) ski season, Mammoth closed it’s doors today after operating for over 8 months. Now, I know Mt. Hood is open as well as Blackcomb glacier but we’ll just not count those for the sake of this post. Follow through past the break and take a gander a few snapshots from last week, taken around Mammoth. Continue Reading…

Our cool, snowy spring paid off for most resorts in the region, with some SoCal resorts staying open until May 3rd. Well, Boreal is giving back and building up a full park for everyone the weekend of the 10/11.
Break out the ski and board gear for some summer shredding. For only $20, come up to Boreal from 10am – 2pm, July 10th & 11th to enjoy the abundance of snow left from the snowy spring. A full terrain park will be built out for you to enjoy, accessed via the Castle Peak Quad. 2010/2011 season passes will be accepted, and will be on sale during the day. Gather 5 friends to purchase season passes to save even more.
More info to come.
Check out their website for more.

Well well well, Mikey actually decided to leave SoCal. It only took him, what? 5 months? Anyway, these photos weren’t meant to be a park report but hey, they are here so let’s use them! Read on for all the details, maybe I can get Mikey to type up some words. For now, enjoy the pictures courtesy of the traveling man otherwise known as JJ. Continue Reading…

We can be completely honest here, the past month or so this place has been stale. Mediocre set-ups and rarely any changes, but all that has changed my friends. All 3 park runs are looking fresh and all 3 offer super fun stuff. Read on for pics then leave your house and come snowboard. Continue Reading…
